TESTCASE_HEADLINE: [55.020.265] (FT-14212) If the MFD is restarted after a DHCP address has been successfully configured on the system, then upon boot up, the MFD shall try (periodically (if needed) per the MFD’s DHCP backoff algorithm) to verify it’s existing lease with the DHCP server that issued the lease (DHCPREQUEST) for approximately 32 seconds (i.e. the DHCP reboot value).

<ol><li value="1">The MFD is configured with DHCP mode. 2. Wireshark is installed in the Server PC. 3. MFD has a valid ip address from the DHCP server. 4. MFD is switched.</li></ol>

PROCEDURE: <p></p>
<ol><li value="1">Wireshark trace started on the server PC and filter bootp.dhcp packets. 2. Once the MFD is restarted again it sends DHCP request packets to the server asking for the same ip address which it was using earlier for 32 seconds 3. If DHCP lease is still valid and ip address is still available, the sever responds with DHCPACK packets indicating that the MFD can use the previously assigned ip address with the updated lease time. 4. If DHCP lease is not valid or ip address assigned to another device, the server will respond with DHCPNAK packets indicating that the lease is not valid and the MFD will start the DORA process again to obtain a new lease.</li></ol>
