<ol><li value="1">The MFD is configured with DHCP mode. 2. Wireshark is installed in the Server PC. 3. MFD has valid ip address from the DHCP server. 4. DHCP server is turned off or DHCP service is turned off.</li></ol>

PROCEDURE: <p></p>
<ol><li value="1">From the wireshark trace, filter for bootp.dhcp packets and verify that when lease time expires, client sends DHCP request packet to the server asking for lease renewal with the same ip address. 2. Since the DHCP server is off, client keeps sending DHCP request packets periodically to the server (as per MFD's DHCP backoff algorithm) for lease renewal until the rebinding time expires which is ~87.5% of the length of the lease and the MFD will transition from renewing its lease to rebinding state.</li></ol>

OUTPUT: <p>If there is no response to the DHCP lease renewal requests the system shall transition from renewing its lease to a rebinding state at the Rebinding Time (known as the T2 timer) specified by the DHCP server</p>
