<ol><li value="1">The MFD is configured with DHCP mode. 2. Wireshark is installed in the Server PC. 3. MFD has a valid ip address from the DHCP server. 4. DHCP server is turned off or DHCP service turned off on the server and no other DHCP servers are available in the network.</li></ol>

PROCEDURE: <p></p>
<ol><li value="1">Wireshark is turned on and the filter is applied for bootp.dhcp packets. 2. MFD sends DHCP request packets to the server requesting to renew the lease which is after ~50% the lease time configured on the server. 3. Since DHCP server is turned off, MFD will not receive response to the DHCP request packets se nt by MFD. 4,. MFD will keep sending DHCP request packets to the server until rebinding time expires after which the request packets are broadcasted in the network to see if any other DHCP servers can respond to the renewal request. this process will continue till DHCP lease time expires. 5. Since no response is received even for the binding request , MFD shall start the DORA process again to get a new DHCP lease.</li></ol>
