  1. Test requires a active Router/AP and Xerox Wireless USB Adapter which supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands and Wi-Fi modes (Edimax EW-7822ULC - AC1200 Wireless Dual-Band USB 3.0 Adapter).
  2. Confirm rear USB ports are enabled.
PROCEDURE:

  1. Insert the Xerox Wireless USB Adapter (which supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands and Wi-Fi modes) into the MFD's rear USB port.
  2. Do the below configurations In Router/AP and save the changes

    • Give two different names for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands (i.e. ASUS-2G and ASUS-5G)
    • Configure the Router's/AP's Wi-Fi mode as IEEE 802.11b.
    • Configure the Router's/AP's frequency band as 2.4 GHz.

  3. Open CWIS of the MFD through its IP address then -- properties> connectivity -- setup -- wireless connection -- wireless settings.
  4. Click on "Scan for Available Networks" which will display all the available wireless networks.
  5. Select the SSID of the corresponding wireless AP ((i.e. ASUS-2G ) and enter the valid configurations (which should match the configurations applied in router and server) and save the changes.
  6. Navigate back to connectivity page and click on the "Make Active" button next to wireless connection.
  7. Fetch the device new IP address from LUI or console and access the device CWIS using the new IP.
  8. Check whether the CWIS is accessible and communicating properly in 2.4 GHz frequency with IEEE 802.11b mode and Send a print job to confirm connection.
  9. Switch the device back to wired and Reconfigure the Router's/AP's Wi-Fi mode as IEEE 802.11g for 2.4 GHz frequency band and repeat step 3-7.
  10. Check whether the CWIS is accessible and communicating properly in 2.4 GHz frequency with IEEE 802.11g mode.
and Send a print job to confirm the connection.
  11. Switch the device back to wired and Reconfigure the Router's/AP's Wi-Fi mode as IEEE 802.11n for 2.4 GHz frequency band and repeat step 3-7.
  12. Check whether the CWIS is accessible and communicating properly in 2.4 GHz frequency with IEEE 802.11n mode and Send a print job to confirm connection.
  13. Switch the device back to wired and Reconfigure the Router's/AP's Wi-Fi mode as Mixed Mode for 2.4 GHz frequency band and repeat step 3-7.
  14. Check whether the CWIS is accessible and communicating properly in 2.4 GHz frequency mixed mode and Send a print job to confirm connection.
OUTPUT:

  1. Xerox Wireless USB Adapter (which supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands and Wi-Fi modes) should be recognized by MFD in STEP 1.
  2. CWIS should be accessible and should communicate properly in 2.4 GHz frequency with IEEE 802.11b mode and job should be printed successfully in STEP 8.
  3. CWIS should be accessible and should communicate properly in 2.4 GHz frequency with IEEE 802.11g mode and job should be printed successfully in STEP 10.
  4. CWIS should be accessible and should communicate properly in 2.4 GHz frequency with IEEE 802.11n mode and job should be printed successfully in STEP 12.
  5. CWIS should be accessible and should communicate properly in 2.4 GHz frequency mixed mode and job should be printed successfully in STEP 14.
