Go to Properties &amp;gt; Connectivity &amp;gt; Protocols &amp;gt; LDAP and click on 'Add New' 2. Use LDAP setup wiki page to enter server IP address, Search Directory Root and login name and password. Then Apply the changes. <ol><li value="1">At the WebUI navigate to Properties &amp;gt; Services &amp;gt; Server Fax &amp;gt; Fax Repository Setup. 2. Under the 'Login Credentials' section select the 'System' login option then clear the login/password fields and Apply the changes. 3. Add a non-null login name to the Login text field and Apply the change. 4. Select the 'Authenticated User' option and Apply the change. 5. At the device go to Server Fax and proceed to scan a document. 6. Navigate to Properties &amp;gt; Security &amp;gt; Authentication &amp;gt; Setup. then click on the Edit button next to "Authentication method on the machine's touch user interface (Touch UI)". 7. Under the drop-down for touch interface authentication select "User Name / Password Validated Locally on the Xerox Machine" and Save the change. 8. At the device go to Server Fax and proceed to scan a document.</li></ol>

OUTPUT: <p></p><p>The user is not able to use a blank login name when using the 'System' login option- instead an error message will appear. A blank password is allowed as long as the login name is not blank. When "Authenticated User" or "Authenticated User and Domain" are used the Login Name and Password fields are disabled. The credentials used to complete the Server Fax job are taken from the LDAP authentication setup. When "Authenticated User" or "Authenticated User and Domain" are used and the device is set to authenticate users locally the credentials used to complete the Server Fax job are blank. Therefore the scan should not be successful.</p>
