PROCEDURE:Description/Details/Assumptions 1. Before Alt-Boot, edit the device's SMTP (Email) address in Properties>Connectivity>Setup>SMTP 2. Reboot machine and wait for 10 minutes or so to preserver the the new setting just entered in step 1. 3. Altboot starts. 4. The previously generated clone file including "clone to self attributes" is saved to RAM. 5. Once altboot is completed, the "clone file" is automatically reapplied causing an extra reboot. 6. After the clone file is reapplied, rename and save it to the device. 7. Telnet to the device and verify the saved clone file is on disk; the location and name of the file is: /var/opt/nc/dlms/upgrade/data/cloneSelfRestored.dlm 8. Go to CWIS Properties>Connectivity>Setup>SMTP and verify that the Device's Email address is preserved.
OUTPUT:Success Criteria During the altboot process the user is NOT asked to reapply the clone file. If regular altboot, the clone to self file will be restored from RAM to disk and the settings will be automaticallt applied. If forced altboot, the clone to self file will be restored from RAM to disk but the settings will not be automatically applied.
