Contact your service provider for assistance" in LUI GROUP: FEATURE: SUB_FEATURE: INPUT:

  1. Make sure that the device is ready state with any D3.5 build.

  2. Make sure that a USB pen drive is available with an VALID dlm file in an "any" folder or outside the folder.

  3. Make sure that the front and rear ports are enabled.

PROCEDURE:

  1. When the device is in ready state insert the USB drive which has VALID dlm file -> Select Install file option -> enter admin credentials -> browse and select the upgrade file -> select "Install".

  2. Observe that the Software Upgrade is initiated by upgrading required modules.

  3. Observe that the upgrade has failed due to failure in one or more modules showing error message as “One or more items failed to install. Do not power off the device (with exclamation mark icon). Re-installation attempt: x of 3 (in gray color)” and the device automatically retries for 3 times.

  4. Verify that once all the 3 retries have been failed the device declares as "Software Installation Failure" with error message as "Software installation failed. Contact your service provider for assistance" in LUI.

  5. Submit an INVALID DLM file from CWIS and repeat Steps 2-4.
     NOTE: You can fail the Customer upgrades only in Engineering builds.

If the CUSTOMER Software Upgrade (Altboot Forced Altboot USB Manual and WEB UI upgrade) has failed the device should performs 3 retry attempts and after performing 3 attempts the device should declares it as “Software Installation Failure” by displaying error message as “Software installation failed.
