PROCEDURE: Created in response to Xerox00087710 Network Scanning: Verify that password protected PDFs are password protected when using linearized PDF option. Replication Steps / Notes: 1. Set up a remote repository on a server then point the device Web browser 2. Launch the device Web browser select Properties >>> Services >>> Workflow Scanning >>> Default Template. 3. Within the ‘Document Management Fields’ section select the [Add] button. 4. In the "Add Document Management Field" window enter "xrx_pdf_password" within the "Field Name" field then select "Editable". 5. Enter what prompt you would like to see on the device (e.g. “PDF Password”) within the Field Label when this feature is chosen. 6. Leave the "Default Value" field is left blank. 7. Ensure that the “Require user Input” box is NOT checked then select the ‘Mask User Input” box. 8. Do NOT select ‘Record User Input to Job Log” as the log will capture the password entered as readable text. 9. At device UI launch the Network Scanning
feature set a PDF Password and scan document to repository in step 1. 10. Observe that document scans successfully to the repository setup in step 1 and requires a password in order to open the document 11. launch the device Web browser again go into Properties >>> Services >>> Network Scanning >>> Default Template >>> Network Scanning Image Settings and enable Linearized PDF 12. Repeat step 9 and observe that the document scans successfully to the repository setup in step 1 but does NOT require a password in order to open the document NOTE: The expectation is that when Linearized PDF is enabled if a PDF Password is set then the scanned document should still require a Password to open it.
