INPUT: 1. Make sure 'Scan to Home' is configured and is at its default settings. For default settings either upgrade the Machine or simply select 'Apply Factory Default Settings' through WebUI->Properties->Services->Scan to Home-> General->Modify Settings. Scroll the page down.
2. Obtain 2 TIFF viewers, one that understands tagging (e.g. Faststone Image Viewer 4.6) and one that does not (e.g. MS Office Document Imaging version 2007 or Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2006).

TESTCASE_STATE:

OUTPUT: Scan to Home 'default' TIFF rotation setting shall be 'Use Device (Slower image processing, compatible with all image viewers).' This is the default TIFF rotation that was in place prior to the TIFF rotation feature. So no changes to the existing behavior.
Images will display correctly in both viewers (that supports and does not support TIFF Orientation tag).
Attribute 'RotateTIFFUsingTag' must be present in the Job Log (.XST) along with the corect value. In this case it shall read 'False' due to TIFF rotation feature being disabled.

SPEC_TAG: [46.020.006] (FT-14212) {DY 1.0} Table 6.05.01.01 1 Default image settings Requirements
[46.020.009] (FT-14212) {DY 1.0} Table 6.05.01.01 1 Factory Default Settings
[46.050.075] (FT-14502) {DY 2.1} The supported TIFF Rotation Method settings are the following:
•Rotate Scanned Image (disabled) - slower image processing, viewer independent
•Use TIFF Orientation Tag (enabled) - faster image processing, may be viewer dependent
[46.050.076] (FT-14502) {DY 2.1} If the TIFF Rotation Method is disabled then the TIFF Orientation Tag shall be set to 1; no rotation
[46.050.077] (FT-14502) {DY 2.1} If the TIFF Rotation Method is enabled then the TIFF Orientation Tag shall be set to a value that reflects the rotation required; see Supported TIFF Tags (section 5.3)
[46.050.078] (FT-14502) {DY 2.1} If the TIFF Rotation Method is enabled and the image is B&W then the TIFF Orientation Tag shall be set to 1; no rotation

SPEC_NUM:

PROCEDURE: 1. Go ahead and verify the 'default' TIFF rotation setting for 'Scan to Home' through: WebUI->Properties->Services->Scan to Home->General->Modify Settings.
2. Under 'Filing Options' select 'Edit' button.
3. Change the filing format to TIFF and validate the 'default' rotation method. Make sure to save newly selected file format to TIFF. The method shall be set to: Use Device (Slower image processing, compatible with all image viewers).
4. To verify the functionality while TIFF rotation is left at its 'default' setting: through LUI, go ahead and perform a Scan to Home job. Job Type: Scan a 1-page 8.5x11 size original via the DADH using LEF (long edge feed). Make sure to select TIFF file format if not already selected in the previous step.
5. Log into the server (the file was sent to) and validate the output in both viewers (that understands tagging and that does not). With feature disabled, output should be correct in both viewers. Note: in order for 'MS Office Picture Manager' to view successfully the scanned file, it may be necessery to change the 'Scan to Home' compression settings for TIFF Color Compression from 'TIFF Specification Supplement 2...' to 'TIFF 6.0 (old JPEG)'. To do so, navigate back to WebUI and change the Compression Settings for Scan to Home service under General->Modify Settings->Compression Capability (Edit)->TIFF Color Compression. Run the same job again and validate the outcome.
6. Perform the same test using the same original scanned via the DADH using SEF (short edge feed). Same outcome is expected.
7. Verify job log (.XST) files contain 'RotateTIFFUsingTag' attributes with correct values. In this case, value should read 'False.'
