SUMMARY:

DESCRIPTION: {DY 1.0} At boot time for an unaddressed MFD in DHCP mode, the system shall attempt to contact a DHCP server (DHCP Discover) for no more than approximately 120 seconds (i.e. the DHCP timeout value) in an attempt to obtain an initial IP configuration.  During those 120 seconds the MFD shall periodically attempt to contact a DHCP server (per its DHCP backoff algorithm).  If during the 120 second initial configuration time the attempt to contact a server fails, the system shall restart the DHCP process approximately 60 seconds (i.e. the DHCP retry value) later and continue attempting to contact a DHCP server in the same manner until a response is received.
