 Xerox Standard Accounting setup values stored on a System Device shall be persistent. (They shall be retained through resets, reboots, crashes, normal software upgrades, etc. until explicitly changed by the System Administrator or Accounting Administrator.

This one verifies that "Enablement" and "preset configurations" such as "Added Users" and set "Usage Limits" are retained through resets, reboots and "Normal Software Upgardes".

Create 3 of each of the following: User IDs, Group Accounts and General Accounts created before attempting this test. Associate each User ID to one of each of the Groups and General Accounts. Set limits for tracked features and make a note/record them.

1) Log on as Admin 2) Go to Properties--Accounting--Setup--click the edit link for accounting workflow
3)In the Presets section click the radio button for "enable tracking for all services".

PROCEDURE:

  1. Enable "Xerox Standard Accouting" for all trackable features.
  2. Create three of each of the following: User IDs;Group Accounts and General Accounts.
  3. Associate each User ID to one of each of the Groups and General Accounts.
  4. Set limits for tracked features and make a note/record them on each individual user account. Make sure they are all different between users.
        Example: If you limit Color prints on User 1 to 10 Color prints make sure that the limits of Color Prints for the other two users is different.
  5. Record and keep a record of the preset Limits on each individual user for each of the features.
  6. Make sure that Xerox Standard Accounting setup values setup in step 4 are persistent across each of the following scenarios:

        - Reset the device
        - Reboot the device
        - System Crash ( pull power cord to emulate loss of power/crash)
        - Perform a device upgrade that does not involve a FORCED altboot (WebUI DLM upgrade or USB "upgrade" folder with .dlm alone)
    \ Note: Performing an FORCED alternate boot of the ESS will remove all Xerox Standard Accounting data from the device.
OUTPUT:

  1. Verify the the follwoing is true: Xerox Standard Accounting setup values stored on a System Device should retained through:

      1. Resets

      2. Reboots

      3. Normal software upgrades

      4. Crashes
