  1. Make sure the auditlog log and protocol log option should be enabled.

  2. Make sure Scan to Email is configured in CWIS and also SMTP Connection Encryption STARTTLS (If Available) is on.

  3. Make sure Login methods for Touch UI method should be set as "User Name / Password Validate on the Network"

  4. LDAP should be configured in CWIS .

  5. FIPS should be either enabled or disabled via CWIS->Properties->Security->Encryption->FIPS 140-2.
PROCEDURE:

1.On the WUI of the device Navigate to the Properties Tab->Services->Email->Setup->Under Required Settings Edit SMTP and enter the valid SMTP server IPv4 address and Device Email Address.

  1. At this page choose the Connection Encryption tab and Select the Radio Button STARTTLS (If Available) and apply settings.

  2. Email setup page->Select Security option->Edit Encryption and Set Email Encryption Enablement to "Off".

  3. Configure the LDAP servers in the device via CWIS->Properties->Login/ Permissions/Accounting->Edit LDAP servers and enter the necessary information.

  4. In LUI ,as a guest user select the scan to email service-> add valid email recipients and run the job and confirm the job should be successful.

  5. Download the auditlog via CWIS->Properties->Security->Auditlog and extract the downloaded auditlog zip file.

    7.Check the tls.txt file for the SMTP entries.

  6. Follow the above step (1-4) to login with Network user in LUI and run email job and check the auditlog.

  7. Follow the above step (1-3) and also Configure Smart card authentication in WebUI and in LUI login using either alternate login/Swiping valid card reader and run the email job and check the auditlog log.
OUTPUT:

tlsfile.txt should be captured the below SSMTP events

i) date[yyyy.mm.dd],time[hh:mm;ss] and logs[xxxxx:xxxxxxxxxx]: Service [ssmtp] accepted connection from 127.0.0.1:33508

ii) date[yyyy.mm.dd],time[hh:mm;ss] and logs[xxxxx:xxxxxxxxxx]:connect_blocking: connected
